Every call you can't answer is someone deciding whether to wait or ring the next number. Put in your own numbers to see what that costs you in a year.

- Worked out from your own numbers. None of them are industry averages.
- Counts calls for 52 weeks: people still ring when you're on holiday.
- Profit lost is before tax.
Your Jobbo page takes callback requests day and night, so someone who can't get through can leave their name, number and the job instead of trying the next number. A line that answers your missed calls is on the way.
Set up your pageHow it works
We take the calls you get in a week, the share you miss, and the share of those callers who give up and ring someone else. Some of them would have become jobs at your usual price. That's the work going elsewhere.
- Calls missed = calls a week × share you miss
- Callers lost = calls missed × share who ring someone else
- Jobs lost = callers lost × share of answered calls that become jobs
- Work lost a year = jobs lost a week × 52 × average job value
It only counts the callers who go elsewhere. Some people ring back or leave a message, so the cheapest fix is to cut the share who give up: give them a quick way to leave their details, or have someone answer.
Questions
How many calls do tradespeople miss?
It depends on the trade and how you work. Someone on the tools all day alone misses more than a business with someone in the office. Count yours for a week from your phone's call log: it's the only number that matters here.
Don't people just leave a voicemail?
Some do. People with an urgent job, like a lockout or a leak, usually want someone now, so many try the next number instead. That's what the 'ring someone else' share is for. Put in your best guess, then try a higher and a lower one to see the range.
What's the cheapest way to stop losing them?
Give people another way in when you can't answer: a callback form on your page, a voicemail greeting that says when you'll ring back (and then doing it), and an auto-reply text while you're driving. If the numbers above are big, an answering service or AI receptionist can pay for itself.
Is what I type stored?
No. The sums run in your browser and nothing you type is saved. Without JavaScript, your numbers go to our server once to work out the answer and aren't kept.
